A Note from the Cubmaster
The Blue and Gold Banquet is held in February to acknowledge those
Webelos II Scouts who are moving on to Boy Scouts. While most of our
Scouts will continue to work throughout the school year, Webelos II
cross over at the Blue and Gold Banquet.
Graduation occurs in May and by this time all Scouts should have
completed the requirements of their rank: Tiger, Wolf, Bear, or
Webelos I. At Graduation, all Scouts that have earned their rank patch
will be awarded their kerchief signifying that they are working on the
next rank. Tigers get their Wolf kerchief and so on.
We also use the Blue and Gold Banquet to acknowledge those Scouts who have
already completed the requirements of their rank, and earned their
rank patch. The Scouts who have completed their requirements by the Blue
and Gold will receive their rank award and can begin working on the electives for their rank.
Those who haven't completed their ranks have until May to finish.
I hope this clears up the relationship between graduation and the Blue
and Gold Banquet.
